Kulipari: Dreamwalker Koa is an immersive interactive storytelling experience based on Kulipari: Army of Frogs and the Dreamwalker novels by Trevor Pryce. Originally conceived for VR, the project explored new ways of telling a linear story through non-linear exploration, allowing viewers to freely discover scenes and narrative moments at their own pace. The experience was built in Unreal Engine and deployed using Pixel Streaming, making it accessible directly through a web browser.
My responsibilities included creating environments, characters, and the large catapult featured in the experience. The goal was to faithfully translate the stylized world of Kulipari into an interactive real-time environment while maintaining visual consistency across all assets.
Working in Unreal Engine allowed us to combine cinematic storytelling with interactive exploration, requiring assets that were both visually appealing and optimized for real-time rendering. The project was a valuable opportunity to contribute to an experimental approach to digital storytelling, where users actively explore the world rather than simply watching the narrative unfold.
